On December 24, 1872 Dea and Thea were allowed leave from the Philadelphia Magdalen Society asylum for wayward girls to visit family for Christmas. Their money ran out at Petticoat Junction. Except for meals and postage, they purchase all supplies exclusively from widow Anne Marie.
